Responsibilities

Own complex technical projects end-to-end
Lead the design of backend systems and APIs
Build and maintain infrastructure for AI/ML model deployment
Design highly scalable systems for data processing
Multiply output with agentic coding
Drive improvements in reliability, performance, and cost efficiency
Implement security and compliance measures
Set engineering standards for code quality and testing
Mentor teammates on agent-assisted codebase

Requirements

5+ years of backend engineering experience
Deeply integrated AI coding into daily workflow
Experience building and debugging large-scale systems
Strong experience shipping maintainable, testable, production-grade Python
Deep understanding of REST APIs
Deep understanding of database design
Deep understanding of complex system architecture
Strong background with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, and/or Azure)
Strong background with modern DevOps practices
Understanding of data processing pipelines
Understanding of data storage solutions
Understanding of analytics architectures
Strong bias to execution
High engineering standards and attention to detail

Preferred

Public artifacts of agentic workflow (CLAUDE.md/AGENTS.md context files, published MCP servers, agent co-authored commit history)
Writing about how you build with agents
Hands-on experience building with large language models
Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
Understanding of security best practices for handling sensitive data
Previous early-stage startup experience
Familiarity with frontend technologies
Familiarity with full-stack development
