Product Manager - Consumer

At Suncorp New Zealand, we're transforming how we deliver value to customers through simpler, smarter and more digital insurance solutions. We're looking for an experienced Product Manager to join our Consumer team on a 6-month contract and play a key role in driving our product strategy, portfolio performance and customer experience outcomes.

This is an exciting opportunity to influence the design, development and evolution of consumer insurance products while working across a broad stakeholder network, including technology, underwriting, distribution, claims, customer experience and external partners.

What you'll be doing

As Product Manager, you'll help lead the ongoing development and optimisation of our Consumer product portfolio, ensuring our products remain competitive, customer-focused and commercially sustainable.

You’ll

• Manage and enhance a portfolio of consumer insurance products across the NZ market.
• Support the delivery of our product simplification and digitisation strategy.
• Identify opportunities to improve customer experiences, streamline processes and create greater value for customers and partners.
• Work closely with internal teams and external partners to develop and deliver end-to-end product solutions.
• Contribute to strategic initiatives that drive sustainable growth, portfolio performance and customer outcomes.
• Partner across the business to bring innovative ideas and solutions to market.

What you'll bring

We're looking for a collaborative and commercially minded Product Manager who enjoys navigating complexity and influencing outcomes.

• 5+ years' experience in Product Management.
• Experience within insurance, financial services or a related regulated industry.
• Strong understanding of personal and/or commercial insurance products.
• Proven experience delivering product enhancements, transformation initiatives or digital change.
• Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
• Strong project delivery capability and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• A customer-first mindset, supported by strong commercial acumen.
• Tertiary qualifications in Business, Finance or a related discipline and/or insurance qualifications will be highly regarded.
