Lead end-to-end architecture and engineering of FHIR-based clinical data integration with hospital EHR systems
Own technical decisions for backend authentication, bulk data export, and incremental synchronization
Design and build SMART on FHIR-based capabilities
Partner with data engineering to model and normalize clinical FHIR data within the data warehouse
Contribute to Azure-based ETL platform tooling for traceability, visibility, and alerting
Provide technical direction and mentorship to engineers on interoperability efforts
Partner with Security and Compliance to ensure HIPAA compliance and EHR vendor security expectations

8+ years of experience in healthcare interoperability engineering
5+ years of hands-on experience with FHIR and SMART on FHIR
Direct experience with Epic and Oracle Health/Cerner EHR platforms
Experience designing and implementing backend service authentication and FHIR resource modeling
Working knowledge of HL7 messaging standards like ADT and SIU
Proficiency in .NET/C# or a comparable modern language
Experience with cloud platforms, specifically Azure
Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical initiatives and set architectural direction

Experience registering through EHR vendor developer programs like Oracle Health or Epic Connection Hub
Familiarity with 340B programs, pharmacy claims, or revenue cycle management
Experience with Databricks, dbt, or Azure Cosmos DB
Experience mentoring engineers or serving in a technical leadership capacity
