Join our skilled team as an Oracle Database Application and Support Analyst, supporting software solutions for 100+ esteemed customers, including prominent names in the Public Sector. This unique opportunity involves working with a mix of on-premises, private, and public cloud-based systems.
Main Responsibilities
As an Oracle Database and Application Support Analyst, expect engaging duties:
- Apply software updates, and perform technology upgrades
- Conduct installations of new software and troubleshoot related issues efficiently.
- Proactively review metrics, and address potential database performance, and backup concerns.
- Communicate professionally with customers and provide innovative solutions.
- Collaborate within the team, share workloads, and foster a supportive environment.
- Collaborate with the broader IT support teams like Networks, UNIX, Cloud Ops etc …
- Identify areas of improvement where outcomes can be improved for customers through automation, enabling efficiency in processes, etc …
Essential Skills/Experience
- Experience with Oracle Database Management including upgrades for single-instance environments.
- Experience in installing and maintaining software on Solaris, Linux, or Windows Server.
- Deployment of Apache Tomcat-based web applications, enhancing web services capabilities.
- Strong aptitude in direct customer interaction via video, telephone, and email.
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose performance issues using native Oracle tools like STATSPACK and latest Oracle tools like OCI Analytics
- Familiarity with ITSM process and ability to leverage modern ITSM tools like ServiceNow, Ivanti or similar.
- Eligibility for UK Security Clearance
Desirable Skills/Experience
- Expertise in Apache Web Server configuration and management, optimizing web app performance.
- Proficiency in Unix shell scripting, streamlining administrative tasks and automation.
- Familiarity with Ansible set up and managing and implementing Ansible roles as part of automation
- Experience in scripted database and software backups and recovery, ensuring data security.
- Knowledge of Microsoft IIS Web Server configuration and management.
- Understanding of network architecture, bolstering infrastructure expertise.
- Oracle Certification
