Job Description

Our client, a Internet Content & Information company, is looking for a Software Engineer IV for their Remote location.

Responsibilities

The main function of a software engineer is to apply the principles of computer science and mathematical analysis to the design, development, testing, and evaluation of the software and systems that make computers work. A typical software engineer researches, designs, develops and tests operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software for medical, industrial, military, communications, aerospace, business, scientific and general computing applications.

Review and approve the modification of existing databases and database management systems.

Instruct staff to write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of database to management system.

Direct database development and approve project scope and limitations.

Review project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project.

Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure.

Approve, schedule, plan and supervise the installation and testing of new products and improvements to computer systems.

Develop standards and guidelines to guide the use and acquisition of software and to protect vulnerable information.

Develop Python scripts to parse and download large datasets from the web in an efficient manner

Write SQL queries to further process the data

Write high-quality, efficient, and maintainable code

Participate in code reviews and contribute to the development of best practices

Troubleshoot and debug software applications

Ensure software applications meet quality and performance standards

Provide timely solutions to technical issues

Document software applications and ensure documentation is up-to-date

Communicate effectively with stakeholders and team members

Implement OSS ML research papers. Deep dive into ML infra / GPU / Memory issues

Requirements

Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.

Strong ability to work independently and manage one’s time.

Strong mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.

Strong knowledge of the full software development lifecycle

from business/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery.

Strong ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issue.

Strong knowledge of computer hardware and software.

Knowledge of computer development software as it relates to systems, such as SQL, VisualBasic, etc.

Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or relevant field required.

At least done ML, PhD, research engineer role seeking candidate

Academic and big tech work exp - at least academic and work exp

Exp in computer vision, research LLM, Video/Audio Multi modal

LLM background

GPU, Pytorch, ML infra or ML backend

Science and ML infra exp needed

If the candidate has publication in CCPR, ICCCE conferences,

NLP conferences, ECCPE

Implemented open source research, published paper etc are major criteria

Research, backend ML infra

Onboard OSS models and build data curation pipelines using those OSS ML models

6+ years of experience (or equivalent) in research engineering, ML engineering, or systems/software engineering with ML implementation work.

Coding background in Python, PyTorch and SQL

Publications of their work and experience giving presentations at top conferences showcasing their research

Soft Skills - Looking for someone that has a high attention to detail, go-getter personality, team player, and problem solver attitude.

No ego's As a Contractor Software Engineer, you will be contributing towards building the next generation of

AI models.

You will play a role in performing a qualitative analysis of data and will also be responsible for developing. Python scripts to parse and download large datasets from the web in

an efficient manner.

In addition, you will also write SQL queries to further process the data.

This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and in a team environment

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field

2+ years of experience as a software engineer

Strong proficiency in Python programming language

Proficient in working with Linux systems and writing shell scripts

Proficient in writing SQL queries

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Strong communication and collaboration skills

Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Experience working on large-scale software development projects

Master's degree in Computer Science or related field

Experience with web scraping and parsing large datasets

Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)

Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools

Familiarity with data analytics and machine learning concepts

Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or relevant field required.

Must-Have HARD Skills

ML Experience - at least 2+ years
