Head of Engineering (all genders) - Commerce Finance Tech

We are currently looking for a skilled & passionate Head of Engineering (all genders) to lead our Commerce Finance Tech Circle Cluster at ABOUT YOU!

Our ABOUT YOU Commerce Finance Tech Circle Cluster is responsible for connecting to the ABOUT YOU Commerce ERP solution to ensure the regulatory compliance of our commerce business. Furthermore, the team is responsible for building our Data Platform used by other stakeholders and the team itself, such as for running financial data pipelines.

• Oversee and enable the key strategic initiatives across our system landscape in close collaboration with the application teams
• Build performant & high scalable technical solutions in close cooperation with our core teams
• Draft architectural decisions and ensure reliable and state-of-the-art products
• Build and manage high-performing engineering teams within the Finance Tech Unit which includes hiring, coaching and mentoring
• Managing a Unit of 2 tech teams and collaborating closely with different business stakeholders
• Reporting directly to our VP level and preparing MD decisions
• Challenge business requirements to ensure a good balance between technical complexity while maintaining business value
• Provide leadership to the engineering teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Lots of space for your own ideas and creations, flat hierarchies and very short decision-making process
• Experienced in accompanying the development of high-scalable software products in an agile environment
• Having a deep understanding of Software Architecture and Infrastructure setups in common cloud providers (e.g. AWS, Google Cloud)
• Designing scalable systems and data modeling
• Deep understanding of business and tech processes
• Comfortable working with senior stakeholders (Directors, VPs or C-Suite), both technical and non-technical
• Having an analytical, data-driven, and efficiency-focused approach
• Working hands-on with high attention to details and having a get-things-done mentality
• Very good written and spoken English skills
• hustler mentality
• good communication skills (especially in English)

Nice to have

• Experience with one or several of the following tools/languages: Python, Google Big Query, AWS, MySQL, PHP
