About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Scientist with strong expertise in data modelling, SQL, and Data Vault 2.0 to support data-driven initiatives in a complex enterprise environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with Data Architects, Solution Architects, and business stakeholders to design data models, gather requirements, and translate business needs into robust logical and physical data models.

This role requires a highly analytical professional who is comfortable making decisions and driving progress even when working with incomplete information.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop data models in collaboration with Data Architects and Solution Architects.
• Develop and maintain Logical Data Models (LDMs).
• Translate logical data models into appropriate physical data models.
• Gather and analyse requirements from business stakeholders.
• Translate business requirements into effective data modelling solutions.
• Apply Data Vault 2.0 principles to enterprise data modelling.
• Work extensively with SQL and Oracle SQL for data analysis and validation.
• Collaborate with technical and business teams to ensure data models meet business and technical requirements.
• Make informed decisions and drive progress in situations where requirements or information may be incomplete.
• Support data integration and modelling activities across complex enterprise environments.
• Analyse data structures and relationships to ensure consistency, scalability, and usability.
• Communicate technical data concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Must-Have Requirements

• 8–10 years of relevant professional experience.
• Extensive experience in data modelling.
• Strong expertise in Logical Data Modelling.
• Ability to translate between logical and physical data models.
• Strong knowledge of Data Vault 2.0.
• Strong SQL skills, preferably with Oracle SQL experience.
• Strong understanding of data concepts and data architecture.
• Experience gathering requirements directly from business stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and make decisions in situations with incomplete information.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Good-to-Have Skills

• Experience with data integration and data modelling in SAP-related projects.
• Knowledge of retail data entities, particularly customer and stock data.
• Experience with dbt.
• Experience with Google BigQuery.
• Experience with GitHub.
• Strong knowledge of Python and its application in data-related environments.
