The Bessemer Trust Internship Program

Our summer internship program offers real world experience working side-by-side with experts from departments and offices across our firm. Working within your designated team, you will manage individual and group projects, interact with senior leaders, and attend a variety of career development sessions. You will also network with fellow interns in-person and virtually, as well as during our intern days held in our New York headquarters.

This 10-week program is designed to mimic the experience of a full-time employee, providing an opportunity to build subject matter expertise and enhance your career at Bessemer and beyond.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Development: Assist in the design, development, and testing of data solutions, including building pipelines and ETL processes, supporting database modeling and integration, contributing to data quality checks and governance, and preparing datasets for analytics and reporting.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including business analysts, testers, software engineers, AI developers and business areas directly to understand requirements and deliver high-quality data processes.
  • Problem Solving: Analyze and report data quality issues, identifying and implementing solutions in a timely manner.
  • Code Reviews: Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, adherence to best practices, and continuous learning.

Qualifications

  • Education: Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Knowledge: Basic understanding of software development principles, data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
  • Familiarity with basic database concepts, SQL and Python.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving skills with ability to understand and visualize how data flows through complex systems.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all work tasks.
  • Knowledge of one or more of the following:
  • Database systems (e.g., SQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB).
  • Version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
  • Experience or interest in generative AI technologies is a plus

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $40.00 - $45.00. This range reflects the minimum and maximum base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this role. Application deadline is October 6th.
