About the program

The IT Service Desk Internship is a full-time, 12-week program (40 hours per week) running from May through August. Interns will gain hands-on professional experience by contributing to meaningful projects that have a direct impact on the business. The program will conclude with a presentation to the senior leadership team, highlighting both the project outcomes and the overall internship experience. Throughout the summer, interns will also gain broad exposure to the organization and its operations.

What You’ll Do

This position will gain professional experience by working alongside our internal IT support team. The project will be at a level consistent with assignments given to starting four-year college graduates. In addition, the intern will obtain an overall understanding and exposure to other IT teams and jobs at LCS.

  • Work with Service Desk team to deliver internship project.
  • May work with existing communities to deploy new technologies.
  • May engage with technology partners to develop LCS solutions.
  • May interact with community leadership on project implementation.
  • Contribute to real projects that will be implemented within the organization
  • Collaborate with leaders and team members across departments
  • Participate in professional development and networking opportunities
  • Present your project and summer experience to the senior leadership team at the conclusion of the internship
  • Gain a broad understanding of our industry and operations through mentorship, training, and shadowing opportunities

What We’re Looking For

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field
  • Rising junior, senior, or graduate student with an interest in IT support, infrastructure, or technology operations
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to learn new technologies quickly
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Customer-service mindset with a desire to help others and provide exceptional support
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365, or basic IT troubleshooting is preferred but not required
  • Interest in gaining hands-on experience in corporate IT and technology service delivery
  • Ability to commit to the full 12-week internship program during the summer
