Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Matillion and Google BigQuery. The ideal candidate will have experience designing, developing, and supporting scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT solutions in a cloud-based data environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data integration solutions.
• Build and optimize ETL/ELT workflows using Matillion.
• Develop and maintain data solutions using Google BigQuery.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries, scripts, and procedures.
• Integrate data from multiple structured and unstructured data sources.
• Design and support data warehouse/data lake solutions.
• Perform data modeling and ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability.
• Troubleshoot pipeline failures, data issues, and performance bottlenecks.
• Work closely with business, analytics, and technical teams to understand data requirements and deliver appropriate solutions.
• Follow development, testing, deployment, and documentation best practices.

Required Skills

• 3+ years of Data Engineering experience
• Strong hands-on Matillion experience – MUST HAVE
• Strong hands-on Google BigQuery experience – MUST HAVE
• Strong experience with ETL/ELT and data pipeline development
• Strong SQL skills
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Experience with data warehousing and data modeling
• Experience working with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL
• Good understanding of data quality, performance optimization, and large-scale data processing

Nice to Have

• Python
• Snowflake
• Dataflow / Dataform
• Hadoop / Spark
• Healthcare or life sciences domain experience

Important

This is a W2-only opportunity. No C2C / third-party candidates.

Candidates must have strong, recent, hands-on experience with both Matillion and BigQuery.
