Responsibilities

Monitor production application health and performance
Support IRS Common Business Services production environments
Troubleshoot production incidents and perform incident triage
Analyze application and middleware logs
Diagnose and correct application defects
Troubleshoot database-connected applications
Troubleshoot API and integration issues
Support certificate and credential-related application issues
Prepare application releases and support deployment events
Prepare rollback and recovery inputs
Maintain operational runbooks and technical documentation
Support application vulnerability remediation
Support high-volume mission-critical applications
Participate in 24x7 operational-response activities
Support peak IRS processing periods

Requirements

5+ years of application-development and production-support experience
Proficiency in Java/J2EE and Spring Boot
Experience with REST APIs and SOAP services
Experience with batch applications and enterprise shared services
Experience with application monitoring and log analysis
Experience with Linux and Red Hat OpenShift
Experience with cloud-hosted and mainframe-connected applications
Experience with SQL and database troubleshooting
Proficiency in Git/GitHub and JUnit
Experience with Jenkins, JMeter, Postman, or SoapUI
Experience with Splunk, AppDynamics, or ELK/Elastic Stack
Ability to perform release preparation and rollback planning
Ability to support application vulnerability remediation
Ability to satisfy IRS suitability and background investigation requirements
