The Group Sales Division leads branding, creative, marketing, and membership initiatives as a cross-group organization, with the mission of expanding the membership value and ecosystem of the Rakuten Group, which encompasses over 70 services.

We consider the mobile domain to be a foundational platform for our ecosystem, and as the Group Sales Division, we are further promoting collaboration with Rakuten Mobile.

Within the organization that develops mobile services for corporate clients, we serve as the sole technical specialist group responsible for the planning, development, maintenance, and vendor management of internal and external systems. We are not merely an engineering organization, but "business partners" who build system strategies based on a deep understanding of the business. The System Development Group performs a wide range of tasks, including system development and maintenance, to support Rakuten Mobile's corporate business.

It is a rewarding role where you will plan and develop systems to ensure business is executed efficiently while complying with laws, regulations, and rules, and implement them in the field.

Why We Hire

As the number of mobile lines for Rakuten Mobile increases, the acquisition of contracts for corporate mobile lines and solutions-which are core to Rakuten Mobile-has come to play an increasingly important role. We are looking for a System Engineer/Application Engineer to handle system development, maintenance, and other operational tasks that support this corporate business.

Position Details

As a System Engineer, you will lead projects from requirements definition to system design, software development, acceptance testing, and troubleshooting.

Vendor management skills are also one of the important skills required in each process.

There are many cross-functional activities within the company, and this role is ideal for those who want to drive entire projects forward through their own initiative.

<Example>

・Development and maintenance of external systems

SIM management systems for MVNE/MVNO.

・Development and maintenance of billing and payment systems

Billing and payment systems for MVNE/MVNO.

・Management tasks

Outsourcing management for system registration/changes of customer information, billing, and dunning. Outsourcing management for system development, maintenance, and operations.

・Others

Development and maintenance of internal systems.

Basically, you will be expected to work from the office and communicate in person.

However, working from home is available up to once a week.

Flexible working hours are also available, allowing you to work in a way that suits your lifestyle.

Except for some internal meetings and communication with Tech teams, work is primarily conducted in Japanese.

Work Environment

The group consists of members in their 20s to 50s, and it is a team with easy communication where each member leverages their specialized knowledge and expertise.

All members of Corporate Business Promotion Section 2 joined the company as mid-career hires. Additionally, over 80% have transitioned from outside the telecommunications industry, so you can thrive even if you are new to the industry.

Mandatory Qualifications

・3+ years of experience in Web application development and maintenance. Experience in server and network construction in the cloud.

・3+ years of work experience at a Japanese company.

・Japanese proficiency

Native (or JLPT N1 or higher for non-Japanese nationals).

・Mindset

Ability to take on challenges, a positive attitude even in difficult situations, and an ability to enjoy change.

・English proficiency

TOEIC 600 or higher (or equivalent qualification).

Desired Qualifications

・Certification

Fundamental Information Technology Engineer Examination.

・English proficiency

Business level.

・Experience

Knowledge of MVNO/MVNE business.
