Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise Java applications
Analyze and resolve complex software defects and production issues
Support enhancements for applications utilizing Java, Spring, Struts, JSP, EJB, JMS, WebLogic, and Hibernate
Design and implement REST and SOAP-based services and integrations
Develop and maintain backend services utilizing Java 17+, Spring Boot, and microservices
Collaborate with architects and senior developers on modernization initiatives
Develop and optimize SQL queries and database integrations
Participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers
Contribute to automated testing and CI/CD processes

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field
5–7 years of professional software development experience
5+ years Java development experience in microservices architecture
3+ years of experience with Spring Framework and/or Spring Boot
5+ years of experience developing REST APIs and web services
Experience with Oracle or other relational databases
Experience using Git-based source control
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident status

Preferred

Experience with WebLogic application server administration or deployment
Experience with Struts, JSP, EJB, or JMS
Experience with Docker and containerized applications
Experience supporting federal government or VA programs
Experience with Jira and Confluence
