Senior Full Stack Java / Angular Developer – DevOps

We are looking for an experienced Full Stack Developer to join an Agile DevOps team responsible for maintaining existing services and developing new applications and services in a complex, cloud-based technical landscape.

The role requires strong Java development experience, combined with front-end expertise in Angular.

A T-shaped mindset is important

you should be comfortable working beyond pure development, including Operations, testing and analysis activities, or be willing to develop these skills.

You will work according to a "you build it, you run it" philosophy within a Scrum environment, with significant freedom to introduce technical improvements, innovation and new ways of working.

Position Overview

• Office presence: Approximately 1–2 days per week
• Focus: Java, Angular, Cloud, DevOps and Service-Oriented Architecture

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Java-based services within a cloud-based, service-oriented landscape.
• Develop and maintain Angular applications and front-end solutions.
• Contribute across both front-end and back-end development.
• Work within a Scrum/DevOps team using a "you build it, you run it" approach.
• Perform or support Operations, testing and analysis activities.
• Develop cloud-ready applications using technologies such as Spring Cloud.
• Monitor, profile and tune services using tools such as Kibana and Grafana.
• Analyse complex cross-team IT landscapes at both high and detailed levels.
• Proactively collaborate with other teams to resolve dependencies and technical challenges.
• Support external chain and business partners with the technical integration of services.
• Identify opportunities for technical and process improvements.
• Participate in knowledge sharing, innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Experience

• 4+ years of experience as a Java Developer.
• 2+ years of experience with Angular.
• 2+ years of experience with Cucumber.
• 9+ years of experience demonstrating HBO-level working and thinking capability.
• 9+ years of professional Dutch language proficiency, both verbally and in writing.
• Experience working within an Agile Scrum / DevOps environment.
• Experience with both front-end and back-end development.
• Experience developing in a service-oriented and/or cloud environment.
• OCP certification.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge and experience with Continuous Delivery tooling, including Jenkins, Bitbucket, Confluence, Jira and Sonar.
• Experience with automated testing, including Citrus Framework and Cucumber.
• Experience working in a broader T-shaped role, contributing beyond pure software development.
• Interest in innovation, knowledge building and knowledge sharing.
• Willingness to work approximately 1–2 days per week from the Leeuwarden office.
