The Strategy & Insights Manager will support the development and execution of the Performance Coatings Group (PCG) growth strategy by delivering actionable market intelligence, strategic analysis, executive communications, and cross-functional project leadership. The role will partner closely with business, marketing, innovation, commercial, and executive leaders to identify growth opportunities, assess competitive dynamics, prioritize strategic initiatives, and drive execution against key business objectives.

This individual will serve as a strategic thought partner to leadership, transforming complex market and business information into clear recommendations and executive-ready communications. The ideal candidate combines strong strategic thinking, exceptional communication skills, project management expertise, and proficiency leveraging AI tools to improve productivity, insight generation, and decision-making. This aligns closely with the strategic planning, executive communication, and cross-functional leadership expectations reflected in the PCG strategy organization.

  • This role is not remote/hybrid. This role will report Sherwin-Williams Cleveland Global Headquarters located at 1 Sherwin Way, Cleveland, OH 44115
  • This position will require up to 20% travel
  • This position is also eligible for [bonus] [commissions] [long-term incentive compensation awards] based on performance and subject to the terms of the Company’s applicable plans.

  • Support the annual strategic planning process, including timelines, content development, stakeholder engagement, communication, and performance tracking.
  • Conduct market assessments, customer analysis, competitive intelligence, and industry benchmarking to identify growth opportunities and strategic risks.
  • Lead strategic projects and business initiatives from concept through implementation, ensuring alignment with business priorities.
  • Develop executive-level presentations and strategic narratives for leadership meetings, operating reviews, annual planning sessions, and board-level communications.
  • Build compelling business cases and recommendations supported by data, market insights, and financial considerations.
  • Partner with marketing, innovation, commercial, and business leaders to support strategy development and execution.
  • Monitor emerging market trends, customer needs, competitor activities, and disruptive technologies to support long-term growth planning.
  • Facilitate cross-functional workshops, strategy sessions, and working teams to align priorities and accelerate execution.
  • Manage project plans, milestones, risks, dependencies, and stakeholder communications across multiple initiatives.
  • Leverage AI-enabled tools to accelerate research, analysis, content development, and workflow efficiency.
  • Promote best practices in business storytelling, presentation design, and data visualization.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
  • Must be able to travel as required by the position
  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Finance, Strategy or Data Analytics and/or at least five (5) years in strategy, market intelligence, business planning, consulting, market research, or corporate development
  • Must have experience developing strategic recommendations from quantitative and qualitative data
  • Must have experience leading cross-functional projects and initiatives
  • Must have experience creating executive-level presentations and communications
  • Must have experience with project management
  • Must have experience synthesizing complex information into concise business recommendations
  • Must have experience with Microsoft 365, Teams, Excel, and AI-enabled productivity tools.
  • Must have leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have experience in manufacturing, industrial, coatings, packaging, or B2B industries
  • Have experience with strategic planning processes and portfolio management
  • Have familiarity with Tableau, Power BI, or other business intelligence tools
  • Have experience incorporating AI tools into business analysis, decision-making, and productivity workflows
  • Have advanced proficiency with Copilot or other AI platforms
  • Have knowledge of market research methodologies and competitive intelligence frameworks
