Job Description
Develops, enhances, and maintains scientific software supporting NASA Earth science research and modeling initiatives. Collaborate with scientists and technical teams to modernize scientific applications, improve computational performance, and implement software solutions that support advanced modeling, data analysis, and high-performance computing environments.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Develop, maintain, and optimize scientific software supporting climate and Earth system models.
- Modernize legacy code by translating and enhancing scientific applications using current programming languages and development practices.
- Improve model performance through code optimization and GPU-accelerated computing.
- Collaborate with scientists and researchers to implement new model capabilities and computational enhancements.
- Test, validate, and document software to ensure accuracy, reliability, and performance.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, or related field.
- 8+ years of relevant experience.
- Strong programming skills (Python, Fortran, C/C++).
- Experience with Linux and HPC environments.
