Wealth Management (WM) Platforms manages industry-leading platforms, across all WM channels and client segments, to provide a unified digital experience, unlock growth, and deliver efficiencies for Advisors, Clients, and Institutions.
WM Platforms consists of ten sub-teams including
Field Experience & Platforms, Digital Client Experience & Platforms, Workplace Platforms, Automation & Workflow, Digital Trading & Investing, Generative AI, UX Design & Research, Strategy & Execution. WM Platforms Risk, and the Chief Operating Office.
The Morgan Stanley Wealth Management UX team builds digital experiences that help our clients manage their finances and monitor their investments easily.
We design for two key user bases
our clients, and Morgan Stanley Financial Advisors, whose job it is to guide clients through financial milestones big and small. Our growing team of designers and researchers bring an entrepreneurial spirit to a leading global financial firm. We employ design thinking methods and a user-centered approach to solve real business problems. We’re looking for a UX Designer to help with Morgan Stanley financial products. You’ll be in involved in efforts to rebuild the UI / UX to improve upon the user experience - reduce clicks, automate selections, and rethink and integrate new, complex workflows in an intuitive manner.
Once here you will…
- Working closely with the UX lead, help formulate and execute the product vision by being involved in every step of the end-to-end product design process
- Understand and document the underlying needs and motivation of our clients to ensure we achieve business goals and provide value to our clients
- Work closely with our research team to synthesize qualitative and quantitative data and make value-driven design decisions that translate into clear, simple UIs
- Create and present a variety of design deliverables (sketches, wireframes, user flows and prototypes) in a way that engenders confidence in you and your solutions with the team and the greater organization
- Design and deliver responsive/adaptive solutions that are optimized for web and mobile interfaces and partner with engineers to translate designs into successful products
- Work closely with the larger Wealth Management UX team to share design best practices, align on patterns, and promote a design-centric culture at the firm
- Advocate for all user abilities by thoroughly testing design deliverables to meet WCAG ADA compliance
Relevant experience and mindset…
- You have an outstanding portfolio that demonstrates how you have created experiences that solved business and user needs
- You’ve spent 3-6 years as a UX designer who was a key contributor to the success of products that have launched
- You have a bachelor's degree in design or related field preferably, master’s degree a plus
- You have excellent skills in Figma
- You have experience designing intuitive interfaces that enhance user experience and drive customer engagement
- You can leverage research, wireframes and prototypes to effectively validate and enhance your design concepts to achieve the best possible solutions for your users
- You thrive in a collaborative, explorative environment and you value being on a diverse team to brainstorm and get feedback from within a large organization
- You practice active listening and contribute in group situations, like brainstorms, audits, critiques, and whiteboard sessions
- You get excited by complex projects with high levels of ambiguity and are resilient in the face of obstacles

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $58,000 and $115,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs
