Responsibilities

Support Navy application development
Work with software developers to ensure successful software execution
Assist the Battlespace Awareness and Information domain
Develop and design new web applications
Complete software tasks within the sprint based on estimates
Research technical alternatives and come to sound conclusions
Be proactive and voice opinions when identifying issues/concerns
Design, implement, debug, and test React/JS front-end user stories
Participate in sprint reviews & planning sessions
Mentor and teach junior staff innovative techniques for React/JS development
Decompose epics into user stories
Define epics and user stories based on technical discussion with users
Participate in planning sessions and technical discussions
Define task scope using technical discussions and reference material
Contribute to defining sprint user story content
Conduct application trouble shooting and debugging
Collaborate with back-end Java developers to define required web services
Implement solutions using web services
Contribute to prioritizing the backlog
Maintain coding standards
Review pull requests from multiple team members
Analyze requirements
Collaborate with architect and team members to produce testable implementations
Learn the Navy application problem domain
Lead and contribute to technical discussions for application development

Requirements

US citizenship and an active Secret DoD security clearance
Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
4 to 12+ years of related experience
Functional programming experience with languages such as Clojure, Haskell, Lisp, or similar
Proficiency with a Relational Database Management System (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server)
Proficiency with SQL programming
Proficiency with web application technologies (e.g., JBoss, Apache Tomcat, etc.)
Development of RESTful web-services
Highly skilled with Java
Highly skilled with JavaScript
Highly skilled with HTML5
Proficiency in React/Redux
Proficiency in Node.js
Experience with API design
Experience with PKI client and server Certificates

Preferred
