Scope of Job

The Principal SAP BTP Platform Engineer is a hands-on technical leader responsible for the strategic design, governance, and execution of the organization’s SAP Business Technology Platform landscape. The role will have a strong emphasis on the SAP BTP Integration Suite while also providing expert-level guidance across the broader BTP platform services and related SAP applications, including application development and extension, workflow and automation, SAP Build, API and event-driven architectures, security, connectivity, data integration, and application lifecycle management. This role's architectural and integration authority is scoped to the SAP ecosystem; this role is expected to coordinate with any broader enterprise integration function as the organization's architecture matures.

Initially, the role will focus on modernizing and supporting integrations within the current SAP ECC environment. This role will maintain and develop critical ABAP-based integrations and enhancements while establishing the technical foundation, standards, and roadmap for the organization’s transition to SAP S/4HANA.

This role will bridge the gap between legacy on-premises systems and modern cloud architecture, ensuring seamless data flow, process orchestration, extensibility, and secure connectivity across SAP and third-party applications. The successful candidate will define platform and integration strategies, establish standards, and provide technical direction, while also working directly in the systems to build iFlows, configure BTP services, develop ABAP interfaces, troubleshoot complex issues, and support delivery teams.

As the organization prepares for and executes its S/4HANA transition, this role will also be responsible for defining the future-state BTP architecture, supporting migration planning and execution, identifying opportunities to simplify and modernize integrations, and ensuring that current ECC solutions are designed with future S/4HANA compatibility in mind.
