Responsibilities

Own technical strategy and delivery for edge integration applications and plugins
Architect and develop Android-native integrations for tactical devices
Drive end-to-end integration design with the TAK ecosystem
Act as senior technical escalation point for live operational issues
Mentor engineers in Android, ATAK/TAK, and integration architecture
Influence edge integration roadmap with product and engineering leadership

Requirements

8+ years of software engineering experience
4+ years of mobile development with Android SDK, Kotlin and/or Java
Strong integration design skills (API contracts, data sync patterns)
Demonstrated technical leadership and architectural decision-making
Track record of mentoring engineers
Adaptable problem-solving mindset
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred

Experience with CRDTs or local-first architectures
Cross-platform mobile development (iOS, Windows, Linux)
Significant ATAK/TAK ecosystem experience including plugin development
Tactical networking familiarity (mesh, MANET radio networks)
Embedded databases and offline-first persistence (SQLite, Realm)
Tactical edge deployment experience
SOCOM, DoD, or federal customer experience
Technical lead experience on small teams
Backend or systems development (Go, Rust, Python)
