Assistant Manager – Power BI within the Tax Technology team, responsible for delivering enterprise-grade business intelligence and analytics solutions.

  • Lead the design, development, enhancement, and support of Power BI dashboards, reports, and self-service analytics capabilities.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to convert reporting and analytical requirements into scalable Power BI solutions.
  • Design and manage robust data models using star and snowflake schema methodologies to support complex reporting scenarios.
  • Develop advanced DAX measures, calculated columns, KPIs, and aggregated tables to drive business insights.
  • Perform data extraction, transformation, and preparation using Power Query (M) from multiple structured and unstructured data sources.
  • Manage Power BI Service environments, including workspace administration, report deployment, refresh scheduling, user access management, and security configurations.
  • Ensure implementation of data governance, best practices, and Row-Level Security (RLS) standards across reporting solutions.
  • Optimize report performance through efficient data modeling, DAX tuning, and large dataset management techniques.
  • Support integration with enterprise data platforms such as SQL Server, Azure Data Services, SharePoint, APIs, and Microsoft Fabric.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for Power BI and analytics initiatives while mentoring junior team members and driving reporting excellence across the organization.
  • Design, develop, publish, and maintain interactive Power BI reports, dashboards, scorecards, and analytical solutions.
  • Gather, analyze, and document business requirements and translate them into effective reporting and visualization solutions.
  • Create and manage complex data models, relationships, hierarchies, and semantic layers to support business reporting needs.
  • Develop advanced DAX calculations, measures, calculated columns, and reusable reporting components following performance optimization standards.
  • Build and maintain data transformation workflows using Power Query (M) to ensure clean, accurate, and reliable reporting datasets.
  • Configure and administer Power BI Service workspaces, deployment processes, report subscriptions, scheduled refreshes, and sharing mechanisms.
  • Implement Row-Level Security (RLS), governance controls, and access policies to ensure compliance with organizational data security requirements.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve report performance issues, data refresh failures, and visualization-related challenges.
  • Optimize report load times and scalability by applying industry best practices for model design, query optimization, and data reduction strategies.
  • Integrate Power BI with multiple data sources including SQL Server, Azure platforms, SharePoint, APIs, and Microsoft Fabric environments.
  • Utilize tools such as DAX Studio and Tabular Editor for debugging, optimization, and model enhancements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business users, technology teams, and leadership stakeholders to deliver high-quality analytics solutions.
  • Provide end-user support, knowledge transfer, and guidance on Power BI best practices and analytical capabilities.
  • Stay updated with evolving Microsoft Power Platform, Power BI, and Fabric features to continuously enhance reporting capabilities and business value.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Relevant Microsoft certifications in Power BI, Fabric, Azure Analytics, or Data Engineering will be an added advantage.
