RecoTek is Reconomy’s new centralized technology hub located in Bucharest, Romania, officially launched in February 2024. Serving as the backbone of Reconomy’s tech operations, it consolidates inhouse expertise across all Reconomy brands to accelerate platform development and enhance service delivery.

About the role

As an Application Support Specialist , you will join Reconomy’s global Technology team and play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of business-critical applications and processes. You will provide second-line application support, investigating and resolving complex incidents escalated from first-line support and working closely with business, development, engineering and product teams.

You will be responsible for troubleshooting application and data-related issues, performing root cause analysis, validating system behaviour and using tools such as SQL queries, monitoring platforms, diagnostic logs and ITSM systems to identify and resolve problems.

The role also offers the opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement, helping identify recurring issues, improve support processes, maintain knowledge documentation and work with third-line product teams when further escalation is required.

You will be joining RecoTek in Bucharest, our technology scaling centre, and working as part of the DRS Application Support team within Central Technology

What we need from you

• Experience in second-line application support, troubleshooting and resolving escalated incidents.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis.
• Experience working with ITSM platforms, support queues, SLAs and incident management.
• Working knowledge of SQL for data investigation and validation.
• Ability to use monitoring tools, diagnostic logs and dashboards to investigate issues.
• Experience collaborating with 1st line support, 3rd line engineering/product teams and business stakeholders.
• Good understanding of application support processes, issue reproduction, defect triage and release management.
• Familiarity with APIs, integrations, message flows, batch jobs or scheduled processes is a plus.
• Good written and verbal English communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise incidents according to business impact and SLA requirements.
• A degree or equivalent experience in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Systems or a related field.
• ITIL Foundation or equivalent service management certification is desirable.
