Preset is the open data consumption platform, built on Apache Superset™ — the world's leading open-source BI project. We're on a mission to make data beautiful, portable, and open for everyone: humans, developers, and AI agents alike.
We're a remote-first, globally distributed team that values autonomy, ownership, and creative problem-solving. We ship fast, collaborate in the open, and believe in empowering people to do their best work, wherever they are.
Preset unifies BI, embedded analytics, and APIs into one extensible, AI-ready platform.
We're rethinking what modern analytics looks like
from dashboards and SQL exploration to in-app analytics and agentic workflows.
We’re looking for a Product Manager to join our growing team. This is a hands-on role where you’ll define and prioritize product improvements, partner closely with engineering and design to deliver them, and help shape how we build open-source–powered features that serve both Apache Superset and Preset.
If you love open source, believe software should be transparent and customizable, and want to help shape the future of data consumption, you'll fit right in!
What You’ll Do
Product Definition & Prioritization
- Gather and synthesize feedback from customers, internal stakeholders, and the open-source community
- Define and prioritize bugs, features, and improvements
- Write clear specs and user stories, and partner with design on user flows
Collaboration & Delivery
- Partner with Engineering Managers and Tech Leads to plan sprints, participate in team rituals, and ensure smooth delivery
- Test and validate new functionality, verifying fixes and overall feature readiness before release
- Drive iteration and continuous improvement based on feedback from users, internal teams, and performance metrics
Communication & Rollout
- Write user-facing documentation, changelogs, and release communications for new features
- Collaborate with marketing on launch materials (e.g. blog posts, webinars, in-product announcements)
- Maintain visibility into ongoing work and communicate status across teams
Product Strategy & Market Awareness
- Stay informed on the evolving BI and data ecosystem and identify opportunities for Preset and Superset to differentiate
- Conduct competitive research and track emerging trends
- Interface directly with customers to gather feedback, run user interviews, father feedback on upcoming features, and share roadmap
- Translate learnings into actionable product priorities and help long-term roadmap direction
What We’re Looking For

- Experience working closely with engineering teams in SaaS, analytics, or data tools

Nice-to-haves
- Comfortable operating in open-source environments, coordinating internal resources while engaging with external contributors and community feedback
