Data Science Training Consultant

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver data science curriculum covering Python programming, statistics, data analysis, data visualization, and machine learning fundamentals
• Adapt training materials to the Tanzanian context, using local and open-source datasets and relatable examples from East Africa and the Global South
• Facilitate hybrid in-person and online training sessions, averaging 11 hours per week over 23 weeks
• Support participants through capstone project development, applying data science skills to real-world problems in Tanzania
• Deliver career development sessions including CV writing, LinkedIn profile building, and interview preparation
• Contribute to curriculum documentation and open educational resources hosted on digital learning platforms
• Participate in participant selection, onboarding, and post-bootcamp follow-up activities

Requirements

Knowledege and Experience

• University degree in data science, statistics, mathematics, computer science, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in ICT or digital skills training
• Minimum 3 years of experience designing and delivering data science training programmes
• Demonstrated knowledge of AI and data science skills required by industry
• Knowledge of AI ethics, data protection, data feminism, and responsible data practices
• Experience with digital learning platforms such as Moodle, atingi, or equivalent LMS
• Experience training women and marginalized communities is a strong advantage
• Fluent in English and Swahili
