About the job Analyst (Operations), Projects

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Operations Analyst for one of our global shipping clients. This role supports the Manager (Operations), Gas & Projects in data analysis and project management. The ideal candidate should have 1-2 years of experience in data analysis and be proficient in analytics tools like Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, macros), Power BI, Tableau, SPSS, Minitab, and JMP.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Data Analysis and Project Management

• Data Analysis & Automation: Collect and analyse financial data (P&L) for each voyage; collaborate with IT to automate data collection and reporting for real-time insights.
• Process Improvement: Capture lessons learned from each voyage review and refine operational processes to prevent future losses.
• Contractual Gap Analysis: Assess losses due to contract (CP, towage, port expense) gaps and improve operational processes to bridge them.
• Cost Optimisation: Review freight taxes and port rebates to maximise savings opportunities.
• System Optimisation: Work with IT to implement voyage management tools that provide real time data for better decision-making.
• Customer Relationship: Maintain strong communication with customers, providing operational updates and addressing feedback.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate with agents, charterers, and service providers to ensure high-quality service.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree or Diploma in Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• 1-2 years of experience in Data Analysis (maritime industry experience is a plus).
• Proficient in Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, macros), Power BI, Tableau, SPSS, Minitab, and JMP.
• Strong English communication skills (verbal & written).
• Able to work under pressure while maintaining productivity.
• Team player, responsive to deadlines.
• Detail-oriented in data management and reporting.
