Senior Backend Engineer (Data)

This is a remote position.

About the role

You'll tackle problems involving distributed systems, large-scale data processing, and platform scalability while partnering with cross-functional engineering teams to build reliable, performant data infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone who is highly autonomous, thrives in fast-paced environments, and takes ownership from design through production.

What you will be doing

• Developing and deploying scalable and elegant code
• Work with distributed systems and data pipelines
• Lead and drive projects to completion
• Innovating on creative solutions to difficult problems
• Work with related data infrastructure technologies

What we’re looking for

• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Software Engineering or a related field
• Strong programming skills in Python or any other OOP languages
• Advanced SQL skills and experience designing efficient data models
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
• Experience managing infrastructure using code such as Terraform (IAAS)

Bonus Points!

• Hands on experience working with Apache Spark, Databricks, Flink, Beam, or similar large-scale data processing frameworks
• Experience managing large-scale critical production systems with minimum SLAs of 4 9's

Compensation

The standard base pay range for this role is $180,000 - $220,000 annually. This range does not include bonuses, equity, or other incentives.
