Senior Software Engineer

Role

Senior engineer on a cloud-native SaaS platform modernising enterprise financial software. You'll own complex features end-to-end, drive architectural decisions, and raise the engineering standard across the team.

Technical Skills

Backend

• 6+ years Java, strong Spring Boot in production
• REST API design — clean separation between public contracts and internal domain
• Hibernate ORM, Oracle SQL — performance-aware, not just functional
• Builds extensibility into systems — plugin patterns, hook registries, runtime configuration — so adding features doesn't require code changes per customer
• Security-conscious by default — input validation, secret management, tenant data isolation

Frontend

• Angular + TypeScript — component architecture, reactive forms, schema-driven rendering
• Builds UI that adapts to configuration without per-field code changes

Infrastructure

• Kubernetes — ConfigMaps, Secrets, multi-tenant deployment patterns
• CI/CD pipeline design and quality gates
• Structured logging, distributed tracing, production observability

• Own features from design through delivery — no hand-holding on implementation
• Write architecture decision records; document trade-offs, not just outcomes
• Mentor mid-level engineers through review and pairing
• Spot non-functional risks (security, isolation, performance) during design, not after go-live
• Break large problems into independently deliverable increments and unblock others
