Responsibilities

  • Provide Level 2 support for Big Data platforms and production environments
  • Administer and maintain Hadoop, Kafka, Redis, MongoDB, OpenSearch/Elasticsearch, and NiFi platforms
  • Ensure high availability, resilience, and performance of critical systems
  • Perform cluster provisioning, patching, scaling, tuning, and troubleshooting
  • Support real-time payment transaction processing and streaming infrastructure
  • Monitor system health, incident management, and issue resolution
  • Work closely with architects, project teams, developers, and service managers
  • Drive continuous improvement, automation, and operational best practices
  • Support security, governance, and access control requirements
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and runbooks
  • Participate in on-call support, shift rotation, and critical incident handling

Requirements

  • 6 to 8 years of experience in Big Data / Data Platform Engineering within enterprise environments
  • Strong hands-on experience with Hadoop ecosystem including HDFS, YARN, MapReduce, Hive, HBase, Oozie, Sqoop, and Flume
  • Experience administering Apache Kafka in high-throughput production environments
  • Strong experience managing Redis and MongoDB clusters
  • Experience supporting OpenSearch / Elasticsearch platforms
  • Hands-on experience with Apache NiFi and AWS EMR
  • Good knowledge of AWS Cloud services
  • Strong Linux system administration and scripting skills using Shell and/or Python
  • Experience with Kerberos, PAM, data security, and access governance
  • Experience supporting high-volume, low-latency systems, preferably in banking, payments, or trading environments
  • Strong troubleshooting, incident management, and production support experience
  • Good understanding of cluster performance tuning, scalability, and high availability
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced production environment
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills
  • AWS Cloud certification will be an added advantage
  • Knowledge of JVM, ETL tools, virtual machines, RAID, and hardware configuration is advantageous

Additional info

  • This role is offered on a 1-year renewable contract basis
  • Candidates must be comfortable with rotational shift schedules (no overnight shifts)
  • Support coverage includes Asia and EMEA regions
  • Weekend and public holiday support may be required for critical incidents and escalations
