Job Context

Riseup Labs is looking for skilled Magento developer to build and maintain eCommerce websites for our clients.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop, customize, and maintain Magento e-commerce websites, plugins, and themes to meet client and business requirements.
• Collaborate with clients, project managers, designers, and other developers to translate business objectives into effective technical solutions.
• Build and confi gure Magento 2.x eCommerce websites, including module development and integration with third-party services.
• Design, code, and customize user interfaces and themes using best practices for responsive and mobile-friendly design.
• Troubleshoot integration issues and resolve technical problems with Magento platforms.
• Optimize Magento websites for performance, scalability, and security.
• Implement security patches and updates, and maintain site compatibility across browsers and devices.
• Integrate Magento with external systems such as CMS, CRM, ERP, payment gateways, and shipping providers.
• Analyze, design, code, debug, test, document, deploy, and provide ongoing support for Magento applications.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest Magento developments, industry trends, and best practices, ensuring adaptability for future Magento platform releases.
• Headless Architecture & API Development
• Design, build, and maintain REST/GraphQL APIs for headless frontend consumption (React/Vue/Next.js etc.).
• Customize and extend Magento’s core API services to support complex frontend requirements.
• Implement API security best practices (OAuth, tokens, rate limiting).

Educational Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.

Additional Requirements

• Proficiency in Magento 2.x development, with a strong understanding of Magento architecture, modules, and customization.
• Advanced knowledge of PHP (object-oriented programming), MySQL, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Experience with Magento module and theme development, extension integration, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with front-end frameworks such as Knockout.js and jQuery.
• Experience integrating Magento with third-party APIs and external systems.
• Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) and automated deployment strategies.
• Understanding of Magento’s code structure, extension architecture, and theming hierarchy.
• Experience with performance optimization, caching, and scaling techniques.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to address complex technical challenges.
• Knowledge of SEO best practices, UI/UX trends, and security best practices.
• Experience working with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello) and Agile methodologies.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
