About the Role
This CNC Programmer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and supporting CNC machining programs for precision manufacturing. Working closely with engineering, machining, and quality teams, this role focuses on creating efficient machining processes, improving cycle times, troubleshooting production issues, and ensuring high-quality components are produced safely and consistently. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC Programmer looking to make a significant impact in a modern manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop, edit, and optimize CNC programs for mills and lathes using CAM software.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, CAD models, GD&T, and customer specifications.
- Create efficient machining strategies that maximize tool life, quality, and productivity.
- Select tooling, determine machining parameters, and support setup personnel during new job launches.
- Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and programming issues while providing production support.
- Improve existing programs by reducing cycle times and increasing machining efficiency.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to support new product introductions and process improvements.
- Verify programs through simulation, prove-outs, and first article inspections.
- Maintain programming documentation, setup sheets, tooling lists, and revision control.
- Follow all quality, safety, and manufacturing procedures.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a CNC Programmer in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong experience programming CNC mills and/or lathes using CAM software such as Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidCAM, Esprit, or similar.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD models, and GD&T.
- Strong understanding of machining practices, tooling, feeds and speeds, and tight-tolerance manufacturing.
- Experience supporting machine setups, proving out new programs, and troubleshooting production issues.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with multi-axis machining, including 4-axis and 5-axis equipment.
- Knowledge of G-code editing and post processors.
- Experience with fixture design and process development.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience in aerospace, automotive, medical device, or other high-precision manufacturing environments.
