Responsibilities

Own the architecture, design, and ongoing evolution of Triple Crown's Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS, networking, and Windows Server environments

Design, implement, and maintain Azure and AWS infrastructure supporting corporate systems, with an eye toward scalability as the organization grows

Lead enterprise identity and access management architecture, including Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access, authentication, and role-based access controls

Establish infrastructure standards, technical roadmaps, and best practices for cloud services, networking, and enterprise systems

Design and maintain secure remote access solutions, VPN connectivity, and supporting infrastructure for employees, contractors, and enterprise clients

Serve as the senior technical escalation point for third-party infrastructure and network vendors (e.g., ISPs, hardware manufacturers, cloud support) on complex infrastructure issues requiring architectural expertise

Provide basic onsite technical support to onsite staff, as needed

Lead infrastructure modernization initiatives by replacing legacy technologies and implementing scalable cloud-based solutions

Design and implement infrastructure automation to improve reliability, consistency, and operational efficiency

Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend infrastructure improvements that increase performance, security, and operational maturity

Develop and maintain disaster recovery, business continuity, backup, and infrastructure resiliency strategies

Integrate security best practices into all infrastructure design, including identity security, network segmentation, endpoint protection, privileged access management, and secure configuration standards

Support Commercial CMMC Level 1 initiatives by implementing and documenting applicable infrastructure controls

Partner with the organization's outsourced GCC High and CMMC compliance provider on projects affecting corporate infrastructure

Assist with security assessments, remediation efforts, vulnerability management, and infrastructure hardening initiatives

Collaborate with the IT Support team by providing technical guidance, architectural expertise, and escalation support for complex infrastructure issues

Maintain comprehensive infrastructure documentation, architecture diagrams, configuration standards, and operational procedures

Deliver projects against established timelines, milestones, and objectives while providing regular progress updates to the Director of Operations and IT

Promote standardization, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across the infrastructure environment

Required

10+ years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise infrastructure and cloud environments

Demonstrated expertise with Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, Azure, and/or AWS, including enterprise identity, cloud architecture, and infrastructure modernization

Advanced knowledge of enterprise networking, Windows Server, VPNs, firewalls, and core infrastructure services

Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), infrastructure automation, and scripting tools

Strong understanding of enterprise security architecture, identity management, Zero Trust principles, and infrastructure hardening

Demonstrated ability to develop technical standards, infrastructure roadmaps, and long-term architecture strategies

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, with excellent written and verbal communication and the ability to effectively collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Experience managing technical vendor relationships and leading enterprise infrastructure projects

Comfortable operating as an embedded contractor
