AVP Java Fullstack Engineer – Liquid Financing & SBL (HK)

Job Description

Our client, a premier global financial institution, is driving a major tech transformation across its regional capital markets footprint.

They are bringing on an AVP-level Fullstack Developer to spearhead front-to-back engineering for their APAC Securities Lending and Liquid Financing platforms. In this role, you'll drive the end-to-end design of high-throughput microservices, interactive trading interfaces, and key integration points connecting traders, quants, and global engineering desks across NY and London.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲

• 𝗙𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗲: 5–10 years of strong hands-on development experience across Java backend systems (Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs) and modern frontend frameworks (Angular or React).
• 𝗗𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲: Proven background in Equities and FICC products, with preferred exposure to Prime Brokerage, Securities Lending (SBL), or Financing workflows.
• 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗢𝗽𝘀 & 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Experience driving CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and SQL databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL), alongside Python scripting for tooling.
• 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀-𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Exceptional English communication skills to interact directly with traders, product managers, and senior business stakeholders.
• 𝗘𝗻𝗱-𝘁𝗼-𝗘𝗻𝗱 𝗢𝘄𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽: Proactive mindset with a history of delivering scalable, production-ready features in fast-paced capital markets environments.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗜n 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗬𝗼𝘂

• 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵-𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁: Build strategic, next-generation platforms used daily by front-office traders and quants.
• 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Work closely with engineering leads and counterparts across New York, London, and India on cross-border initiatives.
• 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁-𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲: Gain deep business domain exposure within APAC Securities Lending and financing operations.
• 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵: Clear progression track within an elite global institutional finance environment.
