WHAT YOU DO
Reporting to the Product Owner - Trading (Equities) in Platform & Integration Office department within the COO Office division, the Area Product Owner is responsible to support the Product Owner on initiatives related to Equities trading applications/ platform.
Functional Analysis & Product Delivery
- Gather, analyse, and document business requirements from Trading, Operations, Compliance, and Technology stakeholders.
- Translate requirements into user stories, functional specifications, process flows, and acceptance criteria.
- Perform impact and gap analysis for system enhancements, regulatory initiatives, and vendor releases.
- Support backlog management, sprint planning, prioritisation, and release activities.
- Work closely with development teams to ensure solutions meet business requirements and strategic objectives.
FIX Connectivity & Trade Flow Analysis
- Support broker onboarding and FIX connectivity initiatives across OMS and EMS platforms.
- Review FIX specifications, message flows, and routing logic to ensure accurate implementation.
- Analyse trade lifecycle events, order routing workflows, and broker integrations.
- Coordinate with brokers, vendors, and internal teams to investigate and resolve connectivity, messaging, and trade processing issues.
- Support testing and validation of broker integrations and production releases.
Testing & Quality Assurance
- Review test scenarios and test cases to ensure alignment with business requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Support system, integration, and user acceptance testing activities.
- Coordinate defect triage, prioritisation, and resolution tracking.
- Validate delivered functionality against business requirements and functional specifications.
Operational Support
- Support production issue analysis, incident reviews, and operational process improvements.
- Assist in identifying delivery dependencies, operational risks, and technology-related issues.
- Contribute to knowledge management, documentation, and process standardisation initiatives.
- Support platform stability and continuity during periods of increased demand or resource constraints.
Reporting, Governance & Compliance
- Prepare product reporting, governance updates, and stakeholder communications.
- Track delivery metrics, production incidents, defect trends, broker onboarding status, and key risks.
- Support audit, regulatory, and compliance-related documentation and requests.
- Maintain product documentation, process flows, and operational procedures.
WHO YOU ARE
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in Product Ownership, Business Analysis, Functional Analysis, or Trading Technology support.
- Experience gathering business requirements and producing functional specifications, process flows, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Understanding of equities trading workflows, OMS/EMS platforms, and broker connectivity concepts.
- Familiarity with FIX Protocol messaging and electronic trading workflows.
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Jira, Confluence, and reporting tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Equities, Electronic Trading, OMS, or EMS platforms.
- Knowledge of FIX message structures, trade lifecycle management, and order routing workflows.
- Exposure to regulatory and compliance requirements within financial markets.
- Understanding of software testing methodologies and UAT processes.
- Agile, Scrum, Product Owner, Business Analysis, or Capital Markets-related certification is advantageous.
