About Alegeus

Alegeus is the market leader in consumer‑directed healthcare (CDH) solutions, powering millions of consumer benefit accounts including FSAs, HSAs, HRAs, dependent care and wellness programs through a modern SaaS and payments platform.

We are investing in platform modernization, API-first integration, real-time data access, and AI-driven automation. This is a pivotal moment as we scale engineering rigor and build a next-generation platform.

Role summary

We are looking for a hands-on Senior QA Engineer to take end-to-end quality ownership of product deliverables—from refinement and design through release and production validation.

The role combines QA strategy, UI and API automation, CI/CD integration, debugging, and close collaboration with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take end-to-end ownership of quality for assigned features and deliverables.
  • Participate proactively in refinement and technical discussions by asking clarifying questions, identifying risks, and contributing to solution decisions.
  • Define risk-based test strategies and the optimum test pyramid for assigned product areas.
  • Design effective test-data strategies for multi-tenant SaaS platforms, including tenant isolation and data-privacy scenarios.
  • Build and maintain UI automation using Playwright with Java or TypeScrip or C#t.
  • Develop API automation covering functional, integration, contract, negative, authentication, and data-validation scenarios.
  • Design reusable automation components, page objects, fixtures, utilities, and reliable end-to-end test suites.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to provide fast and reliable quality feedback.
  • Perform exploratory, functional, integration, regression, database, and non-functional testing.
  • Debug issues across UI, API, database, and integration layers and support root-cause analysis.
  • Analyse APM data, application logs, browser logs, network calls, metrics, and distributed traces to investigate test and production issues.
  • Collaborate with developers and operations teams to validate fixes and improve application observability.
  • Improve automation coverage, execution speed, reliability, and defect-prevention practices.
  • Collaborate with team members on automation, API testing, debugging, and adopting quality-engineering practices.
  • Leverage AI tools to improve testing productivity, coverage, analysis, and product quality.
  • Contribute to the team’s AI learning, experimentation, and adoption initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • 3–6 years of experience in software testing and quality engineering.
  • Strong experience developing and maintaining test-automation frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with Playwright using Java or TypeScript.
  • Strong API automation experience using REST Assured, Playwright, Postman/Newman, or equivalent tools.
  • Good understanding of HTTP, REST APIs, authentication, JSON, SQL, databases, and integration testing.
  • Experience integrating automated tests with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience debugging distributed applications using APM, logging, and monitoring tools.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, Datadog, New Relic, AppDynamics, Grafana, or equivalent.
  • Good understanding of QA strategy, test pyramids, risk-based testing, and test-data management.
  • Experience testing cloud-based or multi-tenant SaaS products.
  • Ability to independently own deliverables and drive them to completion.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and mentoring skills.

Success in This Role

Success means identifying risks early, owning product quality end to end, delivering reliable UI and API automation, enabling faster CI/CD feedback, resolving issues through effective debugging, and helping teams confidently release high-quality software.
