Lead, manage, and coordinate QA/QC and QMS activities to support Mumbai facility repair operations. Oversee key quality functions, provide QA/QC operational support, deliver quality awareness and process training, and ensure the effective and sustainable implementation of the QMS in alignment with customer, industry, and NOV Global Quality/BPA/Standardization standards, as well as other applicable requirements.
Collaborate closely with the Operations Team, Department Leads, and Process Owners to achieve product quality and on-time delivery objectives, while driving quality awareness, promotion, and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee daily QA/QC operations to ensure compliance with company, customer, and regulatory requirements.
- Review Work Orders and Sales Orders to develop Quality Plans (QP), Inspection & Test Plans (ITP), quality certificates, and data books.
- Plan and coordinate inspections and testing activities including receiving, in-process, and final inspections, documentation review, functional testing, and FAT witnessing at internal facilities and customer/supplier sites.
- Monitor inspection and testing processes to ensure adherence to applicable quality standards and procedures.
- Ensure proper documentation, traceability, and maintenance of quality records within the document management system.
- Manage NCRs, CARs/PARs, and customer feedback; lead root cause analysis (RCA), corrective action implementation, and timely closure.
- Lead internal quality audits (IQA), support BPA process audits, QMS certification audits, customer audits, and supplier audits as assigned.
- Review and update site-specific quality procedures to maintain compliance with Global Quality standards and QMS requirements.
- Prepare and present annual quality performance reports.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance QA/QC effectiveness and optimize quality resources.
- Supervise, coach, and develop QA/QC personnel, including performance management and training.
- Ensure full compliance with company Quality and HSE policies.

Facility/Group Specific Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate QC activities at the facility and customer-designated locations (e.g., shipyards) to ensure project and contractual compliance.
- Maintain and support the site’s QMS certification, ensuring effective implementation and continuous improvement of quality systems and documentation.
- Plan and coordinate QMS, BPA, technical, and surveillance audits with certification bodies, surveyors, customers, and Global Quality representatives.
- Prepare Quality Plans (QP) and Inspection & Test Plans (ITP), ensuring all drawings, engineering procedures, specifications, and SOPs align with the Repair SOW and customer requirements.
- Manage and document internal and external quality feedback (NCR, CAR/PAR, improvement actions), participate in root cause analysis (RCA), and ensure timely implementation and closure of corrective actions.
- Ensure timely issuance of quality certificates (e.g., COC, SOF, COS) and data books in accordance with Repair WO/SO requirements.
- Review NDE, special process, and inspection/test reports (e.g., coating/painting, welding, PWHT, NDE, calibration, testing) to ensure compliance with approved standards and procedures.
- Conduct supplier audits as assigned by SCM/SLM/SQM.
- Ensure all QA/QC documentation and reports are accurately recorded in DMS/Rig Office and Tracker systems, where applicable.
- Provide QC manhour and consumables estimates to support repair quotations.
- Raise purchase requisitions for quality-related materials and services through the ERP system.
- Safeguard QMS process and document integrity, ensuring timely follow-up with process owners and suppliers on quality matters requiring review, action, and closure (e.g., risk assessments, MOC, procedures, CAR/PAR, RCA, reports).
Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience; or Diploma with a minimum of 6 years’ experience; or ITI certification with at least 8 years’ experience.
- Prior experience in the Oil & Gas industry or engineering environment is preferred.
- Certified QMS Auditor or hands-on experience with API Q1 and/or ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
- Strong knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.
- Good command of written and spoken English, with effective presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team successfully.
- Proven experience in QA/QC operations and supervisory roles.
Job Requirement
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods in both climate-controlled and non-climate-controlled environments.
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, steel-toe boots, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
- Willingness and ability to travel as required for business needs.
