Fullstack Java + React Developer (Java/Spring Boot/React)

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for Mid and Senior Fullstack Developers to join a long-term product team building and scaling customer-facing digital platforms. You will own features end to end — from API design and data modelling on the backend to the interfaces customers actually use — working alongside experienced engineers in an environment where technical decisions are discussed, not dictated. This is a hands-on role with real ownership over architecture and delivery quality.

PROJECT & CONTEXT

The client is a well-established player in the retail sector, running high-traffic platforms where performance, reliability and scale are daily engineering concerns. The ecosystem is built on distributed, event-driven services on AWS, with a modern React/Next.js frontend layer. You will be part of a product-oriented team with a stable roadmap, contributing to a platform used by a large customer base — the kind of environment where your work has immediate, measurable impact.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR (Required)

• Solid experience in fullstack development (Mid or Senior level)
• Java (recent versions — Java 17 LTS or above)
• Spring Boot 3.x for backend services and REST APIs
• React 18 and Next.js for modern frontend development
• MySQL 8 — schema design, query optimisation, performance tuning
• AWS — building, deploying and maintaining cloud-native applications
• Apache Kafka — event-driven architectures and asynchronous messaging
• Fluent English, spoken and written (working language of the project)

NICE TO HAVE (Preferred)

• TypeScript in production React/Next.js codebases
• Docker and Kubernetes
• CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code
• Microservices and distributed systems design patterns
• Automated testing culture (unit, integration, end-to-end)
• AWS certifications
• Previous experience in retail, e-commerce or other high-traffic B2C platforms
• Portuguese language skills
