Are you an experienced Backend Developer proficient in TypeScript/NestJS with a strong background in payment systems and financial messaging? This fully remote opportunity could be perfect for you.

Peanuds is shaking up the banking industry with a fresh, modular approach, allowing you to manage multiple bank accounts and financial services seamlessly through a single login. The platform, offers a powerful corporate banking solution with features like multi-Currency support, SEPA transfers, Card Management, and advanced Analytical Tools.

As we scale, we're expanding our payment infrastructure to include SWIFT Alliance Cloud and Centrolink integrations — and we're looking for a developer who not only fits our tech stack but brings deep domain knowledge in financial messaging, payment processing, and regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robust back-end systems and architectures for payment processing and financial services
• Design and implement integrations with payment networks and financial messaging infrastructure (SWIFT, SEPA/Centrolink)
• Work with ISO 20022 message schemas (pacs, pain, camt) to build compliant payment flows
• Integrate and optimize back-end services using domain-driven design with hexagonal architecture
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent architecture and enhanced performance
• Implement and oversee integration of workflow orchestration tools like Temporal.io
• Ensure adherence to best practices in coding, testing, and deployment

Required experience

• Hands-on experience in back-end development
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and back-end frameworks like NestJS
• Solid understanding of payment systems, clearing and settlement processes, and financial messaging standards (ISO 20022)
• Experience integrating with payment networks or financial infrastructure providers (e.g., SWIFT, SEPA CSMs, national clearing houses)
• Strong experience with SQL and NoSQL databases and database design
• Familiarity with implementing authentication protocols and identity management
• Strong experience designing and implementing both synchronous and asynchronous (REST) APIs
• Proficient understanding of communication protocols and architecture patterns: WebSocket, REST, Queues, and Event-Driven Architecture
