Full Stack Developer (Backend Focus) – Full Remote Portugal

PROJECT & CONTEXT

You'll be joining a close-knit engineering team within a product-focused software house. The work is backend-heavy, with occasional touchpoints on the frontend side. The team embraces AI code assistance tools as part of the daily workflow — not as a gimmick, but as a genuine productivity and quality lever. Expect meaningful technical challenges, collaborative problem-solving, and the kind of environment where critical thinking is not just welcome, it's expected.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 2–3+ years of experience in backend development with Java
• Solid hands-on experience with Spring / Spring Boot
• Comfortable working with React or Angular (frontend exposure valued, but backend is the core focus)
• Actively uses AI code assistance tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar) for development, refactoring, unit testing, documentation and troubleshooting
• Degree or Master's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Strong English communication skills — written and spoken (working language of the team)

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience working in small, agile engineering teams
• Interest or experience in software architecture and clean code practices
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps basics
• Exposure to microservices or event-driven architectures
